TACOS INGREDIENTS 1 pound of ground beef A little bit of Chunky salsa Some taco shells 1/2 head lettuce, shredded 1 tomato, chopped 1 cup of shredded Cheddar cheese   DIRECTIONS In a skillet cook the beef. Then stir some salsa into the beef. Heat until it boils and then reduce the heat. Pour the beef mixture into a bowl. Heat the taco shells as directed on the package. Ingredients     1 cup of bread crumbs 1 tablespoon of all-purpose flour  S alt and pepper to taste 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil 4 pork steaks or cutlets, pounded thin 1 egg, beaten 1 medium onion, diced 1 (8 ounce) can of sliced mushrooms 1 1/2 cups of water 1 cube beef bouillon 1 tablespoon of cornstarch 1/2 cup of sour cream   Directions    In a shallow dish, mix together the bread crumbs and flour. Season with some salt and some pepper. Place the egg in a separate dish. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Dip pork steaks in egg, then coat with the bread crumb mixture. Ingredients    4 matoke (green bananas), unpeeled 1 teaspoon cumin seeds 1 small onion, finely chopped Dried chillies (as many as you prefer)  ½ teaspoon turmeric powder 2 tablespoons vegetable oil Salt to taste Water Directions: Wash the bananas thoroughly and place them unpeeled in a cooking pot, cover with some water then bring to a boil for 20 mins. Peel them, then slice to pieces or chunks. Heat a deep pan. Once hot, toast the cumin seeds – ensure that they do not burn. Add oil, chopped onions and cook until slightly browned. Add a few chillies and the turmeric and fry over low heat for about five minutes. Add the chopped bananas, stir, then add a cup of water (add more water if bananas are not soft enough) then allow to cook until the bananas are soft. Serve with some chapati. 

Aussie Meat Pie

INGREDIENTS 1 chopped onion 500g of minced beef 1 cup of water 2 beef stock cubes 1/4 cup of tomato sauce 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce A little bit of salt and pepper 3 tablespoons of flour 1 sheet of shortcrust pastry 1 sheeet of puff astry 1 egg DIRECTIONS Cook the meat and onion. Add 3/4 cup of water, some stock cubes, sauces and seasonings. Wait until it boils and then simmer for 15 minutes. Blend the flour with the remaining water and then add it to the meat. Wait until it boils and then simmer for 5 minutes.  Line a pie plate with the shortcrust pasty. Put the cooled meat mixture. Top with some puff pastry, pressing down to seal the edges. Trim and glaze with egg. Finally, bake at 230C for 15 minutes thn reduce the heat to 190C and bake for 25 minutes until golden.

INGREDIENTS 2/3 cup of white rice 3 tablespoons of rice vinegar 3 tablespoons of white sugar Some salt 4 sheets of nori seaweed sheets 1/2 cucumber, peeled and cut into small strips 2 tablespoons of pickled ginger 1 avocado 1/2 pound of smoked salmon DIRECTIONS In a saucepan boil 1 1/3 cups of water. Add rice and stir, reduce the heat and simmer for 20 minutes. In a small bowl mix some vinegar, sugar and salt. Then add the mixture into the rice. Preheat the oven o 300 degrees F (150 degrees C). Heat the nori seaweed sheets in the preheated oven 1 to 2 minutes. Put one nori seaweed sheet on a bamboo sushi mat. With your hands spread a thin layer of rice on the sheet of nori, and press into a thin layer. Arrage 1/4 of the cucumber, ginger, avocado and smoked salmon in a line in the center of the rice.
