Matoke
Ingredients

Directions:
- Wash the bananas thoroughly and place them unpeeled in a cooking pot, cover with some water then bring to a boil for 20 mins.
- Peel them, then slice to pieces or chunks. Heat a deep pan. Once hot, toast the cumin seeds – ensure that they do not burn.
- Add oil, chopped onions and cook until slightly browned. Add a few chillies and the turmeric and fry over low heat for about five minutes.
- Add the chopped bananas, stir, then add a cup of water (add more water if bananas are not soft enough) then allow to cook until the bananas are soft.
- Serve with some chapati.
