Sushi
INGREDIENTS
2/3 cup of white rice
3 tablespoons of rice vinegar
3 tablespoons of white sugar
Some salt
4 sheets of nori seaweed sheets
1/2 cucumber, peeled and cut into small strips
2 tablespoons of pickled ginger
1 avocado
1/2 pound of smoked salmon
DIRECTIONS
In a saucepan boil 1 1/3 cups of water. Add rice and stir, reduce the heat and simmer for 20 minutes. In a small bowl mix some vinegar, sugar and salt. Then add the mixture into the rice.
Preheat the oven o 300 degrees F (150 degrees C). Heat the nori seaweed sheets in the preheated oven 1 to 2 minutes.
Put one nori seaweed sheet on a bamboo sushi mat. With your hands spread a thin layer of rice on the sheet of nori, and press into a thin layer. Arrage 1/4 of the cucumber, ginger, avocado and smoked salmon in a line in the center of the rice. Lift the end of the sushi mat and roll it over the ingredients . Repeat with the remaining ingredients.
Finally, cut each roll into 4 to 6 slices using a wet knife. Serve with teriyake sauce and wasabi.
